An Overview Of Yahoo Japan

Japanese people

When you say the name Yahoo in the United States, most people think of the U.S. based company. But there is another Yahoo site that is almost comparable to the U.S Company in its worth; and that is Yahoo Japan. The Japanese people love their Yahoo site and it shows in its ever growing popularity. There are many differences between the site based in the U.S and the Japanese site; however, there are some similarities as well.

The Yahoo site in Japan offers several different categories of interest to those who use it. They offer a broadband service, the ability to shop online, a business solution center and an auction site, among many other items. This is most likely why this site is so widely popular with the Japanese people. They of course, also offer many traditional items that one would expect to find on a yahoo site. These include email, the ability to set up web pages that can be personalized, and message boards. There is also a social network available that is named Yahoo Days.

Websites that are used by the Japanese people are different than the websites that we in the United States are used to; the Yahoo Japan website is no exception. This website is crammed full of information, to the point that it seems overcrowded to US viewers. This, however, is the type of website that the people of Japan are used to. It is also interesting to think that in popular Japanese culture, Ebay is almost non-existent. The Japanese Yahoo site contains its own online auction site that is extremely popular and offers everything that Ebay does in the U.S.

The United States Yahoo site and Yahoo Japan are similar in many ways, but they do have many differences. Just as the U.S. Yahoo site is extremely popular, the Japanese Yahoo is also extremely popular. This website has an online auction site, offers online shopping and can even provide them with broadband access services. There is a lot of information that the Japanese people can keep abreast on, including celebrity gossip, business information and info on the Japanese economy, and also information on what is going on in the world.

For people who are not natives, the thought of living in Japan and learning a totally new culture is exciting. Many foreign born people go to this country in order to work or to study. The number of people moving there has been increasing with every passing year and the Japanese people have had to deal with this influx of new culture as well.

Living in a different country can be a challenge for anyone, so realizing that the Japanese are very particular about their customs and correct manners is very important. As a foreigner it is important that you become familiar with the basic rules of Japanese society. While many Japanese will cut a foreigner some slack on incorrect etiquette, if one performs something that is extremely disrespectful, then it might not be overlooked. Additionally, it is in your best interest as well to learn a little bit about the rules of a country that you are visiting or planning to live in.

An example of a Japanese culture difference involves entering a home. In Japan it is expected that outside shoes will be removed. The host then provides slippers for the guests to wear. Many people are aware of this Japanese custom; however, there are other shoe etiquette customs that are required in Japan that are not as widely known. For example, another Japanese society custom requires that any room with a tatami floor is to only be stepped on with socks or bare feet. Additionally, there are special slippers that are to be worn exclusively in the bathroom.

While it is important to try and learn as much about a new culture as you can, it would be impossible to think that you could learn everything about a totally new culture right away. This is true for anyone trying to integrate into Japanese society as well. If you have had extra time or exposure to a particular way of life, then it might make it easier for you. For someone who is transplanting from a western country to Japan some customs will seem more foreign and some might seem more familiar.
