The benefits of Trivia and Challenge games

Trivia and challenges games are meant to expand you mind and broaden your mental capacity. Here in America, we have succumb to the innovation and implementation of technology to speed up our lives and simplify our existent. But at what expense?

The expense is our limited use of our own thinking. Years ago, I could recall every single telephone number of all my friends, my prior phone numbers of past housing accommodations and the women at the local bar.

However, I entered the world of Cell phones and caller ID. With that technology, I stopped recalling phone numbers, and relied upon the cell phone contact and the Caller ID menu for recent phone numbers. My mind gave way to the technology. It figured, It didn’t need to remember these simplistic digits. There was a backup. So my mind didn’t store the data.

Bad Mind. I have been invaded by the dumbing down of society, called technology.

I knew this would happen. I should have heeded my own warnings from grade school. Yes I memorized my multiplication tables, and even won school prizes for speed and accuracy. But then there was Junior High. There was the calculator. My Mind said “COOL”, there is a backup. The Brain dumped that information into cold storage. The cold storage section of my mind was introduced to BEER in College and that section of my mind was terminally emptied.

Awe BEER.. but I digress.

We need to expand our minds, we need not rely upon the technology implemented for speed and accuracy, but rather as a true backup to our most valuable asset. Our Brain.
We attempt to exercise and eat healthy, but do we exercise our head? Do we explore, expand, or just allow the wasteland to slowly disappear into oblivion?

No I say. We need to stand up and fight for our Minds with creativity, sarcasm, wit, games, puzzles, the History Channel and TLC. Our Battle is long, but the victory is ours for the taking.

The spoils of our Mind Wars are great. Ingenuity, invention, decisions, the cornucopia of our existence.

Humm BEER!!

Do I have my Guinness for tonight’s episode of Lost? Got to run to the store I guess.
